52 Library Card Uses

Get new ideas for redecorating your house. Number 13 in a series of uses for your library card.

Are you a Better Homes and Gardens reader or an Architectural Digest browser?

Whatever your style - country casual, arts & crafts, cool contemporary – you can get great decorating ideas at Great River Regional Library.

Use the catalog search function to find what you want. Select “Subject Keyword” from the drop-down menu, enter “interior decoration” as your search term, click on the arrow and you’ll see more than a thousand results, a long line of titles to help you with any decorating project.

You'll find dozens of books on individual room décor, regional styles, fireplace ideas, etc. For the young at heart, there’s an AARP Guide To Revitalizing Your Home. If you’re the sophisticated type (or a lottery winner) you may like Barbra Streisand’s book My Passion For Design. Without her budget, maybe you’d prefer Apartment Therapy’s Big Book Of Small, Cool Spaces. Somebody even wrote House Of Havoc: How to make, and keep, a beautiful home despite cheap spouses, messy kids, and other difficult roommates. Imagine that!

Magazines such as Country Living, Dwell, and House Beautiful will also give you practical advice and fresh ideas.

So save money and get creative. Make the library your number one decorating assistant!
