The library can help you make those dreams come true. Use library resources to explore the options available for your vacation planning.
If you are a gourmet, an athlete, an artist, or just enjoy lounging poolside, the library has information that can help you find a vacation to suit your style.
You can begin your search looking at books such as The 100 Best Vacations To Enrich Your Life, Frommer’s 500 Places To Take Your Kids Before They Grow Up, and 1,000 Places To See Before You Die.
From a book such as 100 Greatest Trips, you can select a location, such as Barcelona, then dig deeper. You can read a book on the art and history of Barcelona, watch a DVD about the city or consult one of the guides by Fodor or Frommer. To get in the mood, listen to a CD of traditional or modern Spanish rhythms.
Great River Regional Library subscribes to several travel magazines, all of which can be checked out. You can find them using a Subject Alphabetical catalog search for Travel – Periodicals.
If you like to browse the shelves, begin your search in the non-fiction area with numbers beginning at 910, but don’t stop there. You’ll find helpful books distributed throughout the collection. Feel free to ask staff for help.
