52 Library Card Uses
See a new art exhibit. Number 31 in a series of uses for your library card.
One of the art books in Great River Regional Library's collection is titled 30,000 Years Of Art: The story of human creativity across time and space. Some authors say it isn't our use of tools that separates humans from other animals, it's our art, from cave paintings and carved figurines to contemporary art that's all in the mind!
Art is a fruitful subject for publishers and a fun subject for readers: even if you're not that interested in the words you can always look at the pictures! We have books on abstract art and African art, on ancient art and modern art, on art appreciation and art history. There are literally thousands of books in the GRRL collection relating to art and its specialties.
Many of our libraries also display art such as pottery and paintings by local artists, young and old.
Whether you're at the library to see a new art exhibit or to take home a book on art collecting, check it out!
