52 Library Card Uses
Get Some Internet Training. Number 47 in a list of things to do with your library card.
Each of the 32 Great River Regional Library locations has computer workstations with Internet access. Each library also has wireless access to the Internet. The patrons who get the most benefit from library services are probably those able to access the online catalog by using the Internet. They are able to request materials, place holds on items, renew loans, suspend holds and in other ways use the Internet to maximize their use of library resources. To help ensure equal access, library staff provide basic computer workshops. Many branches have provided classes on genealogy as well as classes on how to use the library and its computers as part of a job search strategy.
If you know somebody who would benefit from learning how to use the computer to access library services, speak to your local library staff about training opportunities.
