52 Library Card Uses
Connect with other people in the community: Number 50 in a series of uses for your library card.
The library is a friendly place. The staff may be busy, and patrons may be absorbed in what they are reading. There’s a tendency (still) for people to think they should be quiet so as not to disturb anybody. But the library is a good place to make connections.
Today’s library functions as a community cultural center. Parents bring their kids to toddler times and story times. Teens meet at the anime club. Book club members meet to discuss books. Crafters gather for creative craft programming. Authors talk and musicians provide entertainment. Your library is a lively place drawing people together.
Check with the library staff to see what kinds of programs are scheduled for your Great River Regional Library location and to find out if there are book clubs meeting. If not, feel free to start one! We have lots of book club kits available, and there are sure to be several that will interest you.
