Free iPod Audiobook Downloads Now Available

If you have an iPod or iPhone, you can now join the crowd who enjoy bestselling audiobooks through Great River Regional Library’s (GRRL) downloadable audiobook service.

More than 1,000 audiobooks are available in the MP3 file format through GRRL’s NetLibrary service. The service is now open to Mac users and their iPods and iPhones as well as devices from other manufacturers. Audiobooks available include contemporary best-sellers, timeless classics and college-level courses from Recorded Books’ Modern Scholar series.

GRRL cardholders get access to downloadable services by registering for a NetLibrary account. You can do it at your branch library or from your home computer. Before you download your first audiobook, you may need to complete a simple software download of the NetLibrary Media Center. After that, you can download audiobooks through the Media Center with one click.

Downloaded files check out for three weeks and can be renewed. For more information or to use the service, check out GRRL's databases and select NetLibrary.

“It’s a fabulous service,” says Joan Allen, GRRL Information Services Coordinator. “It’s so easy. Just download the Media Center and then you can download the books you want, any time day or night, seven days a week.”
