Beautiful Tribute at Annandale Library
At year’s end, a second stained glass window was installed in the children’s area of the Annandale Public Library. After receiving memorial gifts on behalf of long-time Annandale resident Connie Kuehn, who passed away last spring, the Annandale Friends of the Library commissioned Michael’s Stained Glass Studio of St. Cloud to create the window panel in her honor. The scene, which depicts a mother loon and her chick in the foreground with a cozy cabin on the shoreline was one of four designs that Michael Lauer had drawn up to complete a series of five stained glass windows.
In 2012, Pete Wilder and his daughter, Judy Grabham, worked with Michael’s Stained Glass to purchase a stained glass window insert for the library to honor their wife and mother, Ellen. After visiting the library to discuss ideas, a lake scene was chosen that allows other donors to expand the lake on either side with additional panels.
Plaques were purchased and placed under each panel paying tribute to the lost friends and family members. For information on the purchase of additional windows, please contact the Annandale library.
