Not Going South This Winter? – Visit the Library and Escape into Reading!

Not Going South This Winter? – Visit the Library and Escape into Reading!

If you are not one of the lucky snowbirds traveling to warmer, sunnier states this winter, visit the library to escape the cold weather and find a wonderful book to take you away. Adult and teens in sixth grade and up are invited to Escape into Reading this winter for a chance to win great prizes. Each year, Great River Regional Library promotes a Winter Reading Program for more mature readers to add a little fun to the cold, snowy Minnesota months. For every five books read or listened to, participants submit a coupon to enter a drawing for fun prizes. The St. Cloud Friends of the Library has supplied each of Great River’s 32 branches with mugs and blankets to give away locally to lucky drawing winners. Upon completion of the program all entries will be submitted for a region-wide drawing to win Nook eReaders. The Annandale Friends of the Library have added a little more incentive for local readers by purchasing two Nook eReaders to give to two lucky Annandale library participants. eReaders are becoming increasingly popular, especially since patrons can download library books from the library website to read. Sign up can be done online or by visiting your local library.
