Savor the holiday season at the Paynesville Public Library. On Fridays, Dec. 4, 11 and 18 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., stop in to listen to our 'Holiday Strings" (harpist Heather Cornelius and classical guitarist Nathan Cornelius) as they play lovely and soothing holiday music. Read more »
Buffalo Public Library is beginning a major remodeling this week.
The remodel entails renovating one community room to be a children's area and the other community room to be a periodical room. By moving items into these two areas, staff will be able to spread out the collection of books, videos and other items and add a designated Teen area. Read more »
All Great River Regional Library branches will close at 5 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 25 and will be closed all day Thanksgiving Day (Nov. 26). Don't forget to stop in a bit earlier than usual on Wednesday (we're open 10 a.m. - 5 p.m.) to pick up an audio book or music CD to listen to on the drive to Grandma's for Thanksgiving dinner! Visitors to the Great River Regional Library website should notice we have improved the account links and search box in the upper right corner of the home page. They were not as visible and useful as they needed to be, visitors said, so they’ve been changed. They are now more visible and functional, providing users with several options. Read more »
The library welcomes all ages to the library and believes that everybody benefits by having a library card. Parents are responsible for materials their minor children check out, so the library believes parents will want to know when their minor children register for a library card and acquire borrowing privileges. Photographer Don C. Zimmerman of Waite Park has loaned a striking exhibit of his black and white photos for display at the Paynesville branch. All but one are still life or nature photographs. The lone portrait, fittingly, is a portrait Zimmerman shot of photographer Ansel Adams, renowned for his black and white photography. Read more »
