Minor changes have been made to overdue charges, effective on all items returned to the library in the new year. These charges help ensure library materials are returned promptly and remain available to patrons. Overdue charges for children’s video materials are decreasing. In most other cases the overdue charge is changing from 20 cents/day to 25 cents/day. Read more »
Former Branch Assistant Nancy Potter has been promoted and is now the Branch Manager of the Long Prairie Public Library. She replaces Linda Mueller who transferred to Royalton Public Library, another library in the Great River Regional Library system. Read more »
Four libraries within the Great River Regional Library system are modifying their open hours effective January, 2010. The four libraries are in Albany, Eagle Bend, Kimball and Melrose. In each location, the new hours will continue to provide opportunities for people with varied schedules to visit the library.

When the new St. Cloud Public Library opened in 2008, donors responded to a development campaign so the library could purchase new computers, technology, books and other materials to meet increased demand.
Now, regional artists are invited to submit proposals for a monumental art piece to recognize the contributions of donors to that campaign. Read more »

College kids home for winter break will appreciate the library's free wireless Internet access, and the public access computers, as a means to check their email (and their semester grades, if they'll be posted online!). The St. Cloud Public Library Board of Trustees is meeting at 7pm Tuesday, December 15. The meeting is open to the public and will be held in the Array Community Room of the Saint Cloud Public Library.
The anniversary celebration for R.E.A.D. brought together 4 pairs of dogs and their handlers and nearly 40 youth readers plus their parents. The two-hour event on Saturday, November 14th was a success. The Howard Lake Community Room was abuzz with the sound of young voices taking turns reading to Penny, Sara, Jack & Keira. Read more »
