Two hundred thirty-six young people, from infant through teens, read or were read to as part of this summer's Great River Regional Library (GRRL) Summer Reading Program at the Paynesville Public Library. Beginning Thursday, Sept. 1, the main Howard Lake Public Library entrance may be inaccessible for one or more days at a time over the next several weeks.
Alternate entrance and parking will be the Community Room entrance on the second level of the building, with access from 7th Street.

Children filled the Monticello Library to capacity for the final program of the summer! The Zooman and his animals made a return appearance to the library on Aug. 9 to celebrate the end of the Summer Reading Program. It took a year of collecting, but Great River Regional Library ~Upsala handed out 75 free books to area residents during the annual UFFDA community celebration parade on Saturday, Aug. 13.  Branch Manager Wanda Erickson had collected the books over the course of a year by writing for publishers' free give-aways advertised in trade publications. Belgrade Library offers "Make and Take Mondays" for children with four-day school week.

The Belgrade, Brooten, Elrosa school district has made the change from a five-day school week to a four-day school week. Because of this change, the Belgrade library will be offering special events for children on Mondays. Read more »
