Beginning Saturday, Oct. 1, 2011, the Great River Regional Library in Paynesville implemented "1000 Books Before Kindergarten," a program for children from birth through five years old. Designed to encourage love of books and reading and prepare children to learn to read, the program provides book bag and book giveaways for incentives along the way. Read more »

The corridor outside Mary Ramacher’s office is currently filling up with donated books and media items. Ramacher is Great River Regional Library’s Collection Development Assistant. Donations are up this year, she said. Last year, donated items valued at $82,000 were added to the GRRL collection. Read more »
