St. Michael Library Celebrates One-year Anniversary in New Building
The St. Michael Public Library will be celebrating its one-year anniversary on Saturday, Dec. 3 and Monday, Dec. 5 with cake for its patrons.
The brand new library opened its doors for the first time on Dec. 3, 2010. "It is hard to believe it has been a whole year," said Marla Scherber, Branch Manager. "The time has passed so quickly." Read more »

James Wedgwood, Ventriloquist, Leaves the Crowd Laughing
Ventriloquist James Wedgwood and some of his friends entertained an appreciative group at the Royalton Public Library on Monday, Nov. 14. Wedgwood lives near Fergus Falls, but travels throughout the country performing at state and county fairs, corporate events, schools and libraries. Read more »

Paynesville Branch Offers Cartoon/Anime Art Workshop In December
Teens: Have you ever wanted to create your own cartoon or draw your own character? Join us Dec. 6, 4 p.m. at the Paynesville library for a workshop with Shayann Hoffer. This workshop will include character and story outline development, comic drawing techniques, and layout options. We will look at and learn about comic book history and artists for examples. New Art @ Sauk Centre
New art is on display at the Sauk Centre library. It is being displayed courtesy of an art awareness group known as AWE (Artists Welcoming Everyone). The artwork has been created by the students of Sauk Centre Elementary School.
AWE is interested in improving students' visual arts experiences and allowing the greater community the opportunity to appreciate student art. Read more »
Royalton Friends of the Library Book and Bake Sale
The Royalton Friends of the Library are having a book and bake sale on Saturday, Nov. 19 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the council chambers at Royalton City Hall.
Baked goods that are donated may be brought to City Hall on Friday, Nov. 18 between 1 p.m. and 4 p.m. or on Saturday, Nov. 19 before 10 a.m. Proceeds will be used to benefit library services. Read more »

Several Great River Regional Library locations are planning to offer Steampunk Jewelry workshops. What is steampunk? It's a modern take on the kind of vision Victorians had about a steam driven, clockwork future in which ships traveled under the ocean, scientists built time machines in their laboratories, and the Earth was visited by flying machines from other worlds.
