Participants in the library’s Summer Reading Program were eligible for a Blue Ribbon Reader prize drawing. But first they had to write a short essay on why they love reading. Drawing winners at each Great River Regional Library location were submitted to a region-wide drawing. St. Michael’s local drawing winner was Mackenzie Burke, 14, from St. Michael. Read more »
Summer is winding down and with the end of summer comes the end of extended hours at the Albany Public Library. Regular hours are back starting September 4. If you have a card with summer hours on you will find the regular hours on the back.
Did you miss seeing Katniss and Peeta on the big screen?
Well, come down to the St. Cloud Public Library on Tuesday, Aug. 28 at 6 p.m. to get another chance to see the suspense, the adventure, The Game. Refreshments will be served. Parents/guardians will need to remain with their children aged 13 years or younger. Mississippi Room.
Upsala Public Library patron Bridget Gerads received a certificate and prize from Branch Manager Wanda Erickson for her winning essay in the "I Love To Read" Summer Reading Program contest sponsored by Great River Regional Library. Bridget has used the Upsala Public Library for many years and is also a library volunteer. Congratulations Bridget!
Join a book club for adults in Room 259 of the Saint Cloud Public Library on Wednesday, Aug. 22 from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m. to discuss the The Mulligan by Nathan Jorgenson. It's the story of a middle-aged man who takes a chance on life by starting over. Reviewers praised the characters, the humor and the message. Read more »
Belgrade Library's READ (read eat and discuss) Book Club will be celebrating their five-year anniversary on Friday evening, Sep. 21 from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. In September of 2007 Will Weaver's "Sweet Land" was selected as the club's first read. This September "Stalking Susan" by Julie Kramer will be up for discussion. Read more »
Inspired by the popular PBS production "Downton Abbey." the Minnesota Historical Society will present Etiquette School for Ladies at the Belgrade Library this Tuesday evening August 14 from 5:45 - 7:45 p.m. Read more »
Jack the Australian Bearded Dragon and Winston the Chinchilla visited the Waite Park branch with their person Rachael Kroog as part of her Kid Power program on August 7. Rachael’s inspiring message to open your mind and heart by reading was shared through uplifting stories and upbeat songs. Read more »
The Clearwater Public Library moved to new premises at 740 Clearwater Center in June, and celebrated with a Grand Re-Opening on Saturday, July 21. The new premises are very close to the old library building in the same commercial center. It has easy access and plenty of parking. The move has provided additional space that can be used for meetings, programming and more shelving. Read more »
