The Legacy Bill that provides arts and cultural heritage funding for libraries is due for consideration this week in conference committee at the Minnesota State Legislature. It will seek to find compromise between the Senate Legacy Bill (SF 1051), authored by Senator Richard Cohen (D-St. Paul) and the House companion bill (HF 1183). Read more »
Beginning June 6 with "Make & Take Craft: Washer Necklaces,"' Paynesville Public Library's popular weekly programs will run every Thursday through Aug. 8. When things go wrong in the garden it leaves us wondering: what happened, what do I do now, and what can I do to avoid this in the future? This Gardening How-To session will identify ways to deal with issues when things go wrong and help prepare you for future sessions. This spring the Big Lake Public Library provided a new "Young Miss Tea" program for girls 10 to 15. Eight girls attended. They learned about skin care and gave themselves facials and received manicure sets and polish and gave themselves manicures. They also enjoyed tea and lunch. Read more »
