Morrison County Dairy Princesses Sara Roerick and Tracy Herzog from Upsala served ice cream to 74 Upsala residents in celebration of GRRL~Upsala's 25th year. Stormy indeed, but that didn't stop die-hard fans from coming to meet one of their favorite authors on Friday, June 21. The event was held in an oval community room at a local retirement home. A children's program led by Master Gardener Marge Meyer and horticulture specialist Becky Roelofs on June 13 helped children do experiments with different types of soil at the Staples Public Library. A display of children's gardening books available for checkout also drew interest. Read more »
Children learned how to create art in a garden during the Whimsical Fairy Garden class at the Delano Library. Participants chose several colorful plants and flowers to put in their garden. They planted and then embellished their gardens with shells, rocks, buttons and other personal treasures. Read more »

Basil, a trained therapy dog, will be visiting the Waite Park library again this summer looking for children who will read to her. Each child gets fifteen minutes with Basil to read. She will be at the library from 11 a.m. to 12 noon one Saturday each month this summer: June 15, July 13, and August 10. Read more »
