The Big Lake Public Library has celebrated its second graduating class of the 1,000 Books Before Kindergarten program. As the name suggests, each student in the program has the goal of reading or listening to 1,000 books before entering kindergarten. That level of exposure to books and stories provides children with a big step up in reading readiness as they enter kindergarten. Read more »

Calling all princes and princesses! A Royal Tea Party is being held in your honor at the Long Prairie Public Library on Saturday, Sept. 28, 10:00 to 11:30 a.m. Enjoy royal crafts and learn about manners. You are invited to wear your royal attire. Food will be served and may contain wheat, dairy, nuts and fruit. Registration is required. Read more »

The St. Cloud Public Library's Book Club for adults will meet on Wednesday, Aug. 28 from 2:00 to 3:00 p.m. and again from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m. in the Array Community Room. The book for discussion is: The Almost Moon by Alice Sebold. Books bring people together, so come on down.
Central Minnesota Legal Services is now offering a free legal advice clinic to assist persons with matters of family and/or estate and probate law. Advice clinics will be held on the fourth Tuesday of every month at the St. Cloud Public Library from 12:00 noon until 1:00 p.m. Ask at the upper level Information Desk for meeting room location. Wednesday, Aug. 28 is Read & Ride Day at the Minnesota State Fair.
From 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., public library card holders will receive a discounted admission ticket price when they purchase a ticket at the gate using a library card. (One discount per card.)
