Arts Culture History

Arts, culture and history programming at the library is getting a boost. The Clean Water, Land and Legacy Amendment approved by Minnesota voters in 2008 is providing libraries across the state with funding for programming about arts, culture and history.
For the next two years (and possibly longer) Great River Regional Library will use “legacy funding” to present programs related to arts, culture and history.
We’d like to know your ideas about the new programming we should provide.
Maybe you’d like to learn to dance the tango, write a screenplay, or knit a long, woolen scarf for winter walks?
Do you want to know more about the history of immigrants to Central Minnesota, or about the native people who lived here before settlers arrived, or how the voyageurs endured mosquitoes, cold and isolation?
Would you attend author appearances?
Would presentations about new books and films interest you?
Would you attend a classic film series?
If we demonstrated Twitter, would you tweet?
Please take the survey to help us determine what kinds of programming we should offer in 2010 – 2011. Act now. The survey closes midnight, Saturday Aug. 29. Or send your ideas to legacy@grrl.lib.mn.us.
