Aug. 28 is Read & Ride Day at State Fair
Wednesday, Aug. 28 is Read & Ride Day at the Minnesota State Fair.
From 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., public library card holders will receive a discounted admission ticket price when they purchase a ticket at the gate using a library card. (One discount per card.)
Adults (13 to 64): $10
Seniors (65 & over): $7
Kids (5-12): $7
Children (under 5): Free
Library favorites on the stage that day include:
Brodini’s Comedy Magic Show at 2:00 p.m.
Dazzling Dave: Yo-Yo Master at 3:00 p.m.
Divas Through the Decades at 4:00 p.m.
In addition to all the normal fun of the fair, Read & Ride Day has some special activities for library lovers.
- Alphabet Forest Carousel Park Branch – For one day only, you can pick up an Alphabet Forest game card in Carousel Park. Start with a fun game to earn your first word. Take your completed game card to the Alphabet Forest in Baldwin Park and receive a Blue Ribbon! Pick up your game card before the Fair at your public library!
- Get Carded! – Show your public library card and receive your “I Got Carded Button.” Wear it with pride.
- Read & Walk featuring "Moo!" – Walk across Carousel Park and be one of the first people to read the new picture book, "MOO!" by Minnesota’s David LaRochelle and Mike Wohnoutka. "MOO!" is so new it won’t be available until October! Meet the author and illustrator from 10:00a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
