Hopper Makes Friends at Big Lake Leap Into Reading

Hopper Makes Friends at Big Lake Leap Into Reading

Hopper the frog made some new friends at the Big Lake Public Library's Leap Into Reading storytime on Friday, Sept. 28.
Hopper is Great River Regional Library's Leap Into Reading mascot. He is visiting each of the library's 32 locations as they offer Leap Into Reading events throughout the year. Leap Into Reading is an effort to promote reading and encourage literacy spearheaded by the Minnesota Department of Education.
In Big Lake, the children gathered around as Branch Manager Nancy Lee read stories before they made paper bag glove puppets. Here are a few of the stories she read:
Frog Counts To Ten by John Liebler
The Croaky Pokey by Ethan Long
Leap Back Home To Me by Lauren Thompson
Fine As We Are by Algy Craig Hall
