Big Library Read
Prepare for the best dinner party of your life.
Referencing "Keys To The Kitchen" by Food Network and Cooking Channel star Aida Mollenkamp, you can expand on the dishes you already know or create great new ones and become the cook you've always wanted to be.
Great River Regional Library is taking part in the Big Library Read Feb. 17 through March 5. It's an international program that gives library patrons simultaneous access to "Keys To The Kitchen" in digital format, creating a virtual, global book club. You can create a dish from the book at the same time as your friend overseas or out of state, and then join virtual book discussions on Facebook and Twitter.
"Keys To The Kitchen" is available to Great River Regional Library cardholders during the Big Read without wait lists or holds through our Digital Library. You can check it out, and so can your sister, your neighbor and all the members of your dinner club at the same time.
The Big Library Read program is an initiative of OverDrive, a company that provides the platform for Digital Library programs at more than 20,000 libraries around the world.
In addition to providing her book for free to Big Library Read libraries, Aida will also be doing a Facebook chat with readers on Wednesday, Feb. 26 at 7:00 p.m. You can find more about Aida on Facebook, and from her weekly web series "In The Pantry" on Yahoo! Shine.
The Great River Digital Library works with most popular digital devices. Simply follow the directions available on the Digital Library help pages for installing the OverDrive Media Console app. GRRL patrons may borrow up to 10 titles at one time through the Digital Library, and have up to 20 titles on hold at one time.
