Cokato Closing for Remodel April 7 - Reopening April 22
The Cokato Public Library will be closed April 7 through April 21 for remodeling.
It is scheduled to reopen Tuesday, April 22 with a brand new look.
During the closure, the loan time on items borrowed from the Cokato library (not due prior to April 7) will be extended to April 22.
The library’s book drop will be closed, but patrons may return items and access library services by using other Great River Regional Library locations, including Annandale, Buffalo, Howard Lake, and Kimball.
The library is remodeling and refreshing its interior by replacing the carpeting, the main circulation desk, paint, window covering and some shelving. Library Services Coordinator Sheila Rieke said that its space will be used much more efficiently after the remodel. The library will add children’s shelving, designate a space for teen use, and add tables for laptop users. A design consultant is overseeing the project, and the work will be completed by local contractors. The Dassel-Cokato Lions and Dassel-Cokato Rotary members are helping staff remove furniture, books and other materials for the remodel. It is being funded primarily by the Friends of the Cokato Area Library (FOCAL) and the City of Cokato.
During the remodel, library phone lines will be redirected to the St. Cloud Public Library. Staff can help patrons redirect their holds to another GRRL location on request. Online reference service is available through “Ask a Librarian.”
