Bug Guy a Hit in Eagle Bend
Bruce the Bug Guy was a big hit at the Eagle Bend Public Library on June 19. Fifty-four children and adults attended the program, funded in part with Legacy money from Minnesota's Arts and Cultural Heritage Fund.
Everyone was thoroughly engaged in the program activities. Bruce showed many different types of spiders and shared interesting facts about each one. Butterflies were passed around for all to see up close. The reason they did not fly away was because The Bug Guy (Bruce Giebink, from Lino Lakes) keeps the butterflies in a cooler with temperatures in the '50s so they remain lethargic.
The program concluded with Bruce holding up a tarantula and providing insect snacks for those daring to eat them! If you have not attended a Legacy program, join us in the coming weeks. See our Upcoming Events listed on our location link on the left menu.
