Hopper Makes Friends In Elk River

Hopper Makes Friends In Elk River

Hopper was the center of attention at a special Elk River story time on Monday, Sept. 17. Hopper the big reading frog has been traveling around Great River Regional Library locations, helping young children get the message that reading is fun at Leap Into Reading events.
Library Branch Assistant Sandy Welton-Wood introduced Hopper to about 15 children attending the story time, and she told their caregivers about the Elk River library's 1,000 Books Before Kindergarten program. She read stories and got the kids to hop like frogs before doing a craft activity with glue, stickers, colored paper and coloring markers.
Afterwards, Hopper posed for photos. He thinks he's a star!
