Finding Kits Now Easy on the GRRL Catalog
If you’ve ever bought one of those guitar instruction books with a cassette, or one of those computer instruction books with a CD, you’ve bought a kit. A kit is what you get when you combine formats.Read-along kids’ books that come with a cassette? They’re kits.
The library has thousands of kits, like the Great Courses series of college-level lectures which come with audio recordings and guidebooks. Previously, there was no way to search for them other than as “Kits,” which lumped every kind of kit together. The search just got easier thanks to staff who tweaked the computer records and added subdivisions.
Here’s how it works. Choosing “General Keyword” from the dropdown menu in the Search bar:
You can now search for Easy kit to find a children’s cassette/book.
You can search for Language instruction kit and find hundreds of kits for different ages and languages.
You can combine any general keyword or subject keyword search with the terms “Adult Kit” or “Easy Kit” or “Juvenile Kit” or “Nonfiction Kit” to help you narrow your search.
