The Good and the Bad

Celebrities, politicians, athletes, saints and sinners all lead interesting lives which make for stories that can be entertaining, inspiring, surprising and sometimes even puzzling.

You will find terrific biographies of the good and great (and maybe not-so-great) at Great River Regional Library. Recent purchases include “The Bridge: The life and rise of Barack Obama” by David Remnick; “Chelsea Chelsea Bang Bang,” an autobiography by comedian and TV talk show host Chelsea Handler; “Courage and Consequence: My life as a conservative in the fight” by political operative Karl Rove; “Oprah: A biography” by biographer of the stars Kitty Kelley; “Raquel: Beyond the cleavage,” an autobiography by '60s actress Raquel Welch, and “Where Mercy Is Shown, Mercy Is Given” by celebrated hairy bounty hunter Duane Dog Chapman (with Laura Morton).

A general keyword search of the catalog using ‘biography’ produces more than 20,000 hits. So check out a biography and curl up with someone you love, or hate, or always wanted to know.
