Hopper Leaps Into Reading at Becker
Children at the Becker Public Library took a Leap Into Reading with Hopper the Frog on Tuesday, April 3. Becker Branch Assistant Jeannette Burkhardt read stories to a group of attentive children whose ages ranged from nine months to six years. They read a selection of entertaining frog stories, danced, and made clever little frog puppets with paper plates. They were learning as well as having fun. Burkhardt used the books to introduce children to new vocabulary and concepts such as rhyming. Hopper sat back and took it all in. He’ll visit each of the 32 Great River Regional Library locations this year. Stop by and say hello when he’s at your local library. Check the Events calendar for local programming.
