King of Pop's Passing Causes Increased Demand

The unexpected passing of Michael Jackson caused a sudden surge of interest in his recordings. Great River Regional Library (GRRL) owns copies of all the major CDs Jackson recorded, such as "Bad," "Invincible" and "Thriller."
As soon as library staff heard Jackson had died, the Collection Development department assessed how demand would increase and ordered additional copies. The library has an extensive collection of music on CD including popular, jazz, and classical recordings. Music CDs have enduring popularity. People check them out again and again, particularly classic rock, country and pop genres. The holds lists have sharply increased for Jackson's recordings and many are oversubscribed at this point, but they will probably stabilize at lower levels.
It's rumored that many unreleased Jackson recordings are sitting in vaults. When they begin to surface as CDs, be sure to check the GRRL catalog for availability.
