Learn a New Language
Great River Regional Library offers the world's largest language learning service. It's called Pronunciator, and it's available to library users free of charge.
Pronunciator offers a selection of 75 major (and less major) world languages.
- 3 million lessons, 18 million quizzes
- 354 hours of downloadable mp3 audio lessons per language
- language-specific trip preparation lessons
Each language offers audio flashcards, listening and reading exercises that help you build from core vocabulary to conversational sentences. The directions are simple. All the lessons are organized clearly and efficiently to help you build language competency.
To use Pronunciator, go to the library's Databases page, find and click on the Pronunciator link, register with your email address and GRRL library card number, and follow the site instructions.
