Library Booth Travels to County Fairs
It’s County Fair season. Great River Regional Library provides services at 32 locations in Benton, Morrison, Sherburne, Stearns, Todd and Wright Counties, and made plans to have a booth at each county fair in 2012. As well as providing information about the benefits of library membership and all the services libraries provide, the booths provide an opportunity for children to take a reading break during their fair visit. The booth includes a reading rug and a stack of books children can look through and read with their caregivers.
Dylan and Cooper, the boys photographed, were two of the more than 225 people who stopped by the Todd County fair booth. Visitors were able to take part in a guessing contest, and children could attend a scheduled storytime. The Todd County libraries did three storytimes, one each day. A total of 23 children attended.
