Former Assistant Takes Reins as New Manager at Long Prairie Library
Former Branch Assistant Nancy Potter has been promoted and is now the Branch Manager of the Long Prairie Public Library. She replaces Linda Mueller who transferred to Royalton Public Library, another library in the Great River Regional Library system.
Potter worked at the library as a Branch Assistant for almost four years. Prior to that, she had been working as a local journalist. She originally moved to Long Prairie in 1992 to join the nearby Camphill Village, part of the international Camphill movement dedicated to enhancing the lives of people in need of services and supports for daily living.
She applied for the Branch Manager position because it seemed a logical step, she said. “I feel so connected to this community and I love the library. I felt ready for more responsibility. I want to be an advocate for the library and being Branch Manager puts me in a better position for that.” She enjoys helping people. “I love that moment when a child comes to the desk wanting help and I am able to open this world of possibilities.”
Please feel welcome to stop by the library and congratulate Nancy on her promotion.
