It's All Happening in June in Long Prairie!
Summer is almost here and it's time to get out and have some fun! If you find yourself in Long Prairie in June, fun will be just around the corner almost anywhere you look.
Prairie Fest takes place during Father's Day weekend: there are rides, grandstand events, a parade, and lots of great food. For more information visit http://prairiefest.net/. The Friends of the Library are holding their book sale during Prairie Fest. Stop by the Pet Vet (across the street from the library) for some super great deals! The sale runs Thursday and Friday, June 13-14, 9:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. and Saturday, June 15, 9:00 - 12:00 noon.
Long Prairie's Thursday Night in the Park Concert Series kicks off on Thursday, June 13, 7:00 p.m., with Charlie Maguire, Pop Warner, and Tony Glover presenting Woody Guthrie's 100th Anniversary Concert Celebration. This concert is sponsored by the Long Prairie Public Library and will be held at the Long Prairie-Grey Eagle High School Auditorium. The Summer Reading Program starts off with a bang! We have Magician Jared Sherlock performing his high-energy magic and juggling show -- there's lots of audience participation, so bring the whole family! Jared will be at the library Wednesday, June 12, 3:00 p.m. The Summer Reading Program is for kids ages 0-12th grade -- it's for everyone!
