Meuers, Ruda Appointed as GRRL Representatives to CMLE

John Meuers and Gerry Ruda have been appointed as Great River Regional Library (GRRL) representatives to the board of the Central Minnesota Libraries Exchange (CMLE), the library multitype region in Central Minnesota. The board term begins Jan. 1, 2010, and lasts at least two years.

Meuers recently completed nine years of service on the GRRL Board of Trustees. Now retired from the GRRL board, he will maintain his involvement in libraries through his CMLE appointment. Meuers is an attorney in private practice in St. Cloud.

Ruda is a Todd County Commissioner and is a member of the GRRL Board of Trustees. He is a retired educator.

CMLE is one of seven regional multitype library systems in Minnesota. The multitypes were organized in 1979 for the purpose of developing common ways for libraries of different types to work together. The member libraries include K-12, academic, public and special libraries. Each regional center tailors its services to the expressed needs in their region. CMLE serves 12 Central Minnesota counties: Aitkin, Benton, Chisago, Isanti, Kanabec, Mille Lacs, Morrison, Pine, Sherburne, Stearns, Todd and Wright. CMLE is located in the James W. Miller Learning Resources Center at St. Cloud State University.
