Frogs & Snails & Grand Tales at Monticello
Hopper, the library's Leap into Reading mascot, visited Monticello Public Library on Thursday, June 14. Library Aide Michele Forsman and Branch Assistant Sandy Welton-Wood double-teamed the storytime, keeping a group of 16 children on task with songs, games, crafts and stories. It was a wet day outside, but kids stayed dry in the library learning how frog eggs become tadpoles and turn into frogs. Some of the books they listened to were Froggy Builds A Tree House by Jonathan London, 999 Tadpoles by Ken Kimura, The Croaky Pokey! by Ethan Long, and From Tadpole To Frog by Wendy Pfeffer.
The Monticello Public Library is decorated to match this year's Summer Library Program themes: "Dream Big, Read" for children up to 12, and "Own the Night" for teens. It looks spectacular. Stop by and check it out!
