Monticello Library Adds Language Learning Computer
If you want to take your Italian past ciao and your Spanish past hola, now’s your chance.
Library patrons wanting to learn a foreign language have new resources available at the Monticello Public Library. The library has installed Rosetta Stone® language instruction software onto a computer dedicated to language learning. The languages available are:
English for Spanish speakers
Spanish (levels 1, 2 & 3)
Library card holders who have access to GRRL services may reserve the Rosetta computer for two-hour blocks of time. They may call the library (763-295-2322) or stop at the desk to make their reservations.
Language learners using the software work at a computer and receive language instruction through headphones and through the screen to create an immersion experience designed to recreate instinctive language-learning experiences.
This new resource is in addition to the hundreds of language learning print items already owned by the Great River Regional Library system, such as “Arabic for Dummies,” “1,000 German Words,” and “Beginner’s Russian.”
For more information, call the library at 763-295-2322.
