Lovers of Scandinavian mysteries looking for a change of pace could try A Man Called Ove by Sweden's Fredrik Backman. It's described as the heartwarming tale of a cranky old man whose life is altered when a young family moves next door. Panic In A Suitcase by Ukraine-born Yelena Akhtiorskaya is a novel about a Russian immigrant family living in Brooklyn. NPR said it is "sharply observed and very funny," and the Washington Post acclaimed it as "Genius." Queen Of Hearts" by England's Rhys Bowen is a comfortable, lighthearted mystery with a minor British aristocrat at its heart, sleuthing on a visit to the US. This is described as a book for lovers of Downton Abbey.
