Paynesville 4H Club Teams With Friends of the Library & City To Landscape Library Park

In October of 2006, The Central Minnesota Initiative Foundation selected the city of Paynesville for a visit from the Minnesota Design Team . Their purpose was to "help envision, plan, and build a brighter future" for the Paynesville area. With input from the community - including library staff - the team produced plans, sketches and maps for an improved Paynesville. In the plans was the development of what the Design Team called "Library Park" in the grassy area in front of the Paynesville Public Library. In cooperation, the City, the Friends of the Library and the Koronis Eager Beavers 4-H, got together late in June to install flower beds, mulch, shrubs, decorative fencing and an underground sprinkler system. Bench seating had been added earlier. The result is an inviting, cool and green area in which to read, chat with a friend or wait for the library to open.
