Public Input Sought for Library Strategic Plan
Great River Regional Library (GRRL) is seeking public input for strategic planning purposes for the period 2013-2015. Filing a strategic plan is required by the Department of Education, State Library Services.
The library is holding three general public input sessions where the public may provide suggestions and opinions about current and future services. Those suggestions will be included in planning by the library’s administration to help chart GRRL’s path for the next nine years. GRRL Director Kirsty Smith will be at the meetings.
Meetings will take place at:
The Little Falls Carnegie Library on Wednesday, Nov. 7 at 2 p.m.
The Monticello Public Library on Thursday, Nov. 8, at 3 p.m., and
St. Cloud Public Library on Nov. 9 at 2 p.m.
Although many library services remain stable, the social forces affecting libraries change over time. In recent years the library has been increasingly focused on children’s literacy and on information technology. The public input sessions will be used to help determine if the library needs to adjust its path or if other information needs should be prioritized.
Great River Regional Library provides Central Minnesota residents with nearly 1 million books, CDs and DVDs, 250 public computers, programming and information services.
