Richmond Kids Leap Into Stories, Crafts
Children took over the Richmond Public Library for a Leap Into Reading storytime on Wednesday, July 11. Richmond's library doesn't have a meeting room, so programming presents challenges at any time. One solution has been to schedule storytime during closed hours. Children can then spread out and do craft and other activities without being in the way of other patrons.
Retired Early Childhood Family Education teacher and volunteer storyteller Max Backes (at right, in white blouse) led the storytime, leaving Branch Assistant Jennifer Hennen free to take care of other tasks prior to opening.
