Art in the Royalton Library

Art in the Royalton Library

The south wall of the children's area in the Royalton Library is adorned with art work compliments of the students from the Royalton Elementary School. Branch Manager Linda Mueller has never seen the art elves make their appearance. She is always pleasantly surprised when the new pieces of art appear in the library. After a few investigative telephone calls she was put in touch with Erin Chisholm who is the speech language pathologist  for the Royalton schools. Erin is on the Fine Arts Committee at Royalton Elementary School. There is not an art specialist at the Royalton Elementary School. The classroom teachers are responsible for the art education of the students. About four times a year Erin selects new pieces of art from the kindergarten through sixth grade students and displays them at the library. Drawings, paintings and collages are popular selections. The project began when the library was moved to its present location in city hall.
