Author Monica Lee visits Royalton Library
Author Monica Lee visited the Royalton Public Library on Saturday, April 6. She was there to discuss her book, "The Percussionist's Wife: A Memoir of Sex, Crime and Betrayal."
The book gives a behind-the-scenes look inside a 2001 teacher sex scandal in Sauk Rapids and in doing so explores themes of fidelity, faith and justice. Lee weaves her perspective as the wife of the accused to create a candid and riveting story of the demise of her marriage after revelations of adultery surface. Lee, a writer and blogger, is a former St. Cloud resident who now lives in Illinois. Her book is available for checkout at all GRRL libraries.
Patrons who came to the event heard Lee read portions of her book, shared in a lively discussion, and had their books autographed by the author. The weather was unusually dreary for April but Lee's radiant smile helped to dispel the gloom of the day.
