Okee Dokee Brother Has Royalton Roots
Jed Anderson, the tall drummer in the Okee Dokee Brothers band, calls Royalton home. Anderson is a 2003 graduate of Royalton High School. His family continues to live in Royalton. His mother, Connie, was making brunch for the members after their performance at the Royalton Public Library the morning of Thursday, June 21. Anderson, Joe Mailander and Justin Lansing met while they were attending St. John's University in Collegeville and have been making music together ever since. The Okee Dokee Brothers have performed all across the United States. On June 1, 2011, the Okee Dokee Brothers began a month-long canoe trip at the Headwaters of the Mississippi at Lake Itasca. After thirty days of camping, canoeing, filming, and writing, Mailander and Lansing ended up at the St. Louis Arch. This journey provided inspiration for their latest CD/ DVD "Can You Canoe."
The sunny morning skies, lively music and smiling faces of the Okee Dokee Brothers was just the tonic the Royalton audience needed after several days of gloomy weather. It was a good way to begin the summer season in Minnesota.
The Okee Dokeee Brothers are continuing a schedule that has them perform at all locations of Great River Regional Library, finishing on Saturday, June 30. Check the Events schedule for more information.
