Leap Into Reading at Sauk Centre
A group of 22 well-behaved children filled the programming room with energy at Sauk Centre's Bryant Library on Wednesday, June 6. Melrose Branch Assistant Jennifer Frank made the hop up I-94 to present a froggy Leap Into Reading Storytime. Special guest was Hopper, Great River Regional Library's Leap Into Reading mascot. The children listened to frog stories, did some early learning work on words beginning with the "f" sound, then broke up into small groups to do crafts and make snacks. Branch Aide Tamber Gruber (photographed) helped one participant staple together his frog mask as Hopper looked on in the background.
The library's Summer Reading Program began June 4, and many children were picking up their program materials for a summer of reading fun. Programs are available for children and teens from birth through 18 years.
