"Sex & Violence" Teen Author to Speak at St. Cloud
Carrie Mesrobian, award-winning writer of teen novel "Sex & Violence," will give a presentation at the St. Cloud Public Library on Wednesday, Aug. 20, 2:00 to 3:00 p.m. Teens are invited to attend and hear Mesrobian talk about her craft.
"Sex & Violence" won the 2014 Minnesota Book Award for Young People’s Literature and was a 2014 William C. Morris Young Adult Debut Award finalist. Her next novel, “Perfectly Good White Boy” is scheduled for release Oct. 1, 2014. The review of "Sex & Violence" in VOYA magazine said "The dialogue is organic, crisp and true. The topics are deep and relevant — sex and violence, of course, but also gender roles, therapy, PTSD, father-son relationships, class rivalry, drug use, and more. This is an amazing story, one that all older teens will benefit from reading."
Mesrobian lives in the Twin Cities and teaches teenagers about writing at the Loft Literary Center. She has an MFA in creative writing.
