Smart Play Spot Busy in St. Cloud

The Smart Play Spot at St. Cloud Public Library has been busy over the summer.
The rugged play area was created by staff from the Minnesota Children's Museum and purchased with a mix of public and private funding including contributions from Bernick's, the St. Cloud Friends of the Library, the Initiative Foundation, the Morgan Family Foundation, the Jim and Yvonne Sexton Family Foundation, and Minnesota's Arts and Cultural Heritage Fund.

Using a similar mix of funding from local sources and statewide Arts and Cultural Heritage Funds, the Minnesota Children's Museum has been able to place Smart Play Spots in nearly 20 locations around the state. The museum recently released this video about the project, explaining their purpose as learning by doing centers that bring kids and families together.
