Rainforest program successful

The "One World, Many Stories" theme for Great River Regional Library's Summer Reading Program brought 25 children and their parents to the St. Michael library to enjoy the last themed program, "Rainforests."  Jill Mertes, branch assistant, developed the program where she read stories to the children about the rainforest, then they enjoyed a snack of various tropical fruits including papaya, kiwi and pineapples. They finished up by making a turtle or butterfly magnet craft out of tissue paper and cardboard. She hosted an Africa program in June followed by an Australia program in July. The reading program concludes Saturday, Aug. 13.
