St. Michael hosts a flurry of April events
St. Michael Public Library will be hosting a flurry of April events and programs sure to please all ages.
Two authors will visit. On Thursday, April 11, Minnesota sports author Stew Thornley will be at the library from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. Then on Monday, April 22, Doug Ohman, author of "Libraries Of Minnesota," "Cabins Of Minnesota" and "Prairie, Lake, Forest," will stop by from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. in a joint event hosted by the Friends of the Library, STMA Community Education and the Crow River Senior Center.
For the Kids, there are several story times coming up. They include Llama Llama Read-A-Rama on Saturday, April 13 from 11:00 to 11:40 a.m.; Preschool Story Time on Monday, April 15 at 10:05 a.m.; and Night Light Story Time on Thursday, April 25 at 6:30 p.m. We also have a fun Paper Airplane Extravaganza activity planned for Thursday, April 18 from 4:00 to 5:00 p.m.
For the music lovers: renowned a cappella musicians The Half-Steps will give a concert on Wednesday, April 17 at 1:30 p.m. and two classes of Kindermusik will be offered on Monday, April 29. One begins at 10:00 a.m. and the other at 10:45 a.m.
For the History Lovers, "The American Civil War and the Life of a Soldier," a presentation by Arn Kind has received rave reviews from other libraries. Find out what it was like to be a soldier during the Civil War as Kind engages the audience with artifacts, uniforms, equipment and interactive drills. The program is geared for teens-adults and is funded with money from Minnesota's Arts and Cultural Heritage fund in partnership with the Minnesota Historical Society. This presentation will be on Saturday, April 27, from 10:30 a.m. to 12:00 noon.
