The Bug Guy a Big Hit in Staples

The Bug Guy a Big Hit in Staples

The Bug Guy Legacy program was a big hit at the Staples Public Library on June 19. There were 105 children and adults in attendance. Everyone seemed to be thoroughly engaged in the program activities. All different types of spiders were shown and interesting facts were shared about each one. Butterflies were passed around for all to see up close. The reason they did not fly away was because The Bug Guy, Bruce Giebink, from Lino Lakes keeps the butterflies in a cooler with temps in the 50's so they remain lethargic during the program. The program concluded with Bruce holding up a tarantula and providing insect snacks for those daring to eat them! If you have not attended a Minnesota Legacy program, join us in the coming weeks.
