Hopper Says It's Cool Up North
Hopper, the library's Leap Into Reading storytime mascot, was on the road again Tuesday, Aug. 7. This time he went to Staples, the northernmost outpost of the Great River Regional Library. He enjoyed the cooler weather and making some new friends.
Branch Assistant Angela Johnson helped the children to make froggy headbands, and then some of them gathered around Hopper to have their photograph taken. They read fun outdoor stories, Sam And The Firefly, and Fred And Ted Go Camping. Then they played a firefly game with flashlights under a large cloth "tent."
Library storytimes are fun and encourage children to discover the pleasure of reading. Talk to your library staff or check the Events schedule on the library's website to find out about storytimes at your Great River Regional Library location.
