State Fair Discounts

The Minnesota State Fair is offering discounts to library card holders on September 2. They’re calling it Read & Ride Wednesday. The discounts apply to gate admission only, but adults save $2, seniors save $3 and children 5-12 save $2. (Children under 5 are free.) A card is required for each discounted admission, so if you are a family that uses one card, you may want to consider getting cards for all family members. Discounts will also be available on select Midway and Kidway rides, games and concessions.

Read & Ride Wednesday is all part of the Great Minnesota Read-Together planned for that day. It’s taking part west of the Grandstand Ramp in the fair’s Carousel Park. From 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. there will be a non-stop storytime and a schedule of events that includes author Will Weaver, a national yo-yo master, Bill the Juggler, songs and games with musician Ross Sutter, book giveaways and more.
